Ajay Kannan's Love Story for Kalaivani

It all started on 13th January 2026, during our Pongal celebration.

That was the first time I truly noticed her, Kalaivani. I do not know exactly what happened to me in that moment, but something felt different. It felt like I was floating, with butterflies in my stomach and a strange happiness that I could not explain.

Her name was Kalaivani.

After that day, I started seeing her more often. At first, it was just once in a while. Then, somehow, I kept finding myself looking for her.

After a few days, I started seeing her almost every day. And without even realizing it, those little moments of seeing her slowly became feelings.

Eventually, I could not keep it to myself anymore.

I told Kalaivani's best friend that I loved her.

Then came the moment I never expected.

Her friend told me, "Kalai loves you too."

I was incredibly happy. But I honestly could not believe it.

I asked her friend, "Are you kidding me?"

She said she was not.

We hung up, but I remember how happy I was after that call. I could not stop thinking about it.

Then I sent Kalaivani a request on Instagram.

And she did not accept it.

Suddenly, all that happiness disappeared. I was genuinely sad and started wondering if everything her friend had told me was actually true.

Then, one completely random day, something happened that I still remember.

I went to the canteen, and Kalaivani asked me, "Do you want to eat something?"

I said no.

Instead, I just started walking with her.

We eventually went to the PT class, and she sat with me. While we were sitting there, I finally asked her,

"Kalai, do you know that I sent you a request on Instagram?"

She smiled and said, "I know."

Then she told me, "I'll send you one."

And she did.

Then came her birthday.

I wished her on Instagram, but I did not get a reply. I was a little sad again.

But that afternoon, everything changed.

Kalaivani came running towards me and asked, "Can you join my birthday cake cutting?"

Of course, I went.

We cut the cake together, and later we served the cake to everyone together. It was such a simple moment, but for me, it became one of those memories that I knew I would keep for a long time.

Later, towards the end of college that day, I gave her a drawing that I had drawn for her.

She took it.

Later, she replied to me on Instagram and told me that she liked it.

After that, I asked her to join my SIH team.

She said yes.

And now, we are on the same team.

We talk much more often. We spend more time together. And somewhere between all those little conversations, smiles, walks, birthday cakes, drawings and random moments, she became someone very special to me.
